Rabbiman is a mobile app for children aged 5 to 12 that tells them about the Torah, Jewish traditions, holidays and kashrut. The child asks questions by voice or text, and the character answers in text and speech.
This policy explains what data is processed when the app is used, who it is shared with, how long it is kept and how to delete it.
In short
- There are no accounts. We do not ask for registration, an email address, a phone number or a password — the app runs on an anonymous device identifier.
- The child's voice is not stored. The audio exists only while the request is being processed and is deleted immediately after speech recognition.
- There is no advertising or tracking. The app contains no analytics, no advertising identifiers and no sharing of data with advertisers.
Who we are
The Rabbiman app is developed and operated by Israchem LTD ("we", "the operator"). For questions about your data, write to support@rabbiman.com.
Rabbiman is an educational AI companion for children on the subjects of the Torah, Jewish traditions and holidays. The app is intended to be used by children under parental supervision.
The app is available in Israel, Ukraine, Russia and Belarus. Paid subscriptions are not available in all of these countries; where they are not, the app runs in free mode.
What data we process
We follow the principle of minimisation: we do not create accounts and do not request a parent's name, email address, phone number, precise location or registration.
Conversation content
- the text of the child's questions — typed or recognised from speech;
- Rabbiman's answers;
- the topic of the conversation, determined automatically to organise the history.
Voice input
An audio recording of the child's voice is not stored. It exists only while the request is being processed — in memory — is transmitted for speech recognition and is deleted immediately after conversion to text. Only the text transcript is retained.
Technical data
- platform type (iOS or Android) and app version;
- an anonymous device identifier — generated by the subscription management system and not linked to an identity;
- settings entered by the parent: the child's name for forms of address, age group and mode — tied to the device;
- usage counters (number of answers per day) — to enforce limits.
What we do not collect
- accounts, email addresses, passwords;
- precise location;
- analytics, tracking and advertising identifiers — the app contains none.
IP addresses are not stored in the database, but may appear temporarily in server system logs during technical events.
Why we process it
- so that the AI character can answer the child's question;
- so that the child can be addressed by name, if the parent has provided one;
- so that answers can be adapted to the child's age;
- so that the conversation history can be shown to the parent;
- to enforce free usage limits and track subscription status;
- to maintain safety — checking content for anything unsuitable.
Who receives data
Some data is processed by third-party services in order for the app to function. A data processing agreement is in place with each of them.
- OpenAI (United States) The text of the child's question — to generate an answer. Voice audio — for speech recognition. Text — for safety checks.
- Speech synthesis provider The text of Rabbiman's answer — for voicing. The child's voice is not shared here.
- RevenueCat The anonymous device identifier and subscription status — for subscription management.
- Apple and Google Processing of subscription payments in countries where they are available. We do not receive payment details such as card numbers.
- Cloudflare R2 Storage of audio recordings of Rabbiman's answers. The child's voice is not stored here.
We do not sell data and do not share it for advertising.
Where data is stored
- the main server is in Germany (European Union);
- audio of Rabbiman's answers is held in Cloudflare R2 storage, located in Eastern Europe;
- data shared with processors reaches their servers, including in the United States.
How long we keep data and how it is deleted
Conversation history is kept until the user deletes it. The app allows deletion of an individual conversation together with its messages and the associated answer audio, as well as deletion of the entire history for the device.
Complete deletion of device data
On request, the following are deleted:
- the entire conversation history — sessions and messages;
- audio recordings of Rabbiman's answers held in storage;
- records of moderation events;
- the device profile in full: settings, including any child's name provided, the identifier, subscription data and usage counters.
Complete deletion of the device removes all data associated with it, without exception. Audio of the child's voice is not stored at all — see section 2.
Deletion of audio from external storage is carried out on a best-efforts basis: database records are deleted reliably, while in the event of a temporary connection failure with the storage service, individual audio files may be deleted with a delay.
Children's data
The app is intended for children and is used under parental supervision.
- Purchases and settings are protected by a parental gate — a child cannot make a purchase or change settings independently.
- We do not collect personal data about children beyond what is necessary for the app to function.
- The child's voice is not stored.
- If the parent has entered the child's name in the settings, it is automatically removed from the stored history.
A request to parents
Please explain to your child that personal details should not be shared in conversation: their own or anyone else's address, full name, contact details or information about the family. We do not request such data and do not use it deliberately, but conversation content is retained in the history available to the parent — so it is better not to share it.
Parents' rights
A parent can review the child's conversation history in the app and delete data: an individual conversation, the entire history, or all data for the device (see section 6). Access to the parental area is protected by a parental gate.
Religious subject matter
The app is devoted to the Torah and Jewish traditions, so the fact of using it, as well as the content of conversations, may indicate a family's religious affiliation or an interest in Judaism. In a number of legal systems such information falls into special categories of data.
We do not request information about religious belief, community, synagogue or observed customs, and we do not require it to be provided. The settings a parent can enter are limited to a name for forms of address, an age group and an operating mode.
We do not use this information for profiling, advertising, assessment of beliefs or building profiles of families and do not share it with anyone other than the processors listed in section 4, where necessary for the app to function.
Processing is carried out on the basis of the consent of a parent or legal guardian, given when use of the app begins. Consent may be withdrawn by deleting the device's data and ceasing to use the app.
Security
We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect data: encryption of connections (HTTPS/TLS), storage on secured servers in the European Union, restricted access to databases, regular automatic backups and timely updating of security systems.
No system can guarantee absolute protection, but we aim to apply measures appropriate to the nature of the data processed.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. Material changes will be reflected in the app and on this page with a new update date.
